Since the end of 1970s, when Mikhail Yasnov started to write children’s poetry, about 40 books of poetry and prose for children have appeared. Mikhail Yasnov prepared for publication and partly translated the most complete Russian editions of poetry and prose by Gillaume Apollinaire (1994, 1999, 2002), Jacques Prevert (1994), Paul Verlaine (1999), Paul Valeri (2000), Jean Cocteau (2000, 2003), Eugene Ionesco (1999).
Original poetry by Mikhail Yasnov has been translated into English, French, German, Polish, Estonian, Latvian and Romanian. He has been translator and poet in residency with a number of French, Belgian and British centers of literary translation.
