" I was happy, youthfully joyful, and successful. I was awarded First Prize on the All-Union exhibition of art in Moscow. I had more than 50 international shows including bienalle in Paris and Germany. I was serene as Buddha under his three.Unexpectedly I got the news about my very close friend's death. He decided to abandon life. He was very educated man: Spoke all European languages, connoisseur of art, literature and philosophy. What pushed him to commit that? Probably loneness, disappointment, approaching of family emigration played the key role in that. His parents were professional revolutionaries, and were prisoners of tsar's jails and Stalin's GULAG. I was so shocked by this, that I experienced metamorphosis: from Romantism to the austere Expressionism. I used Caravagio painting " Arrest of Jesus Christ" or "Kiss of Judah"
I began obsessively interpret these painting since his death till now"
