An exciting adventure from Beethoven to The Beatles! Join us for an afternoon of pop and classical music by 9-year-old child prodigy, pianist Ethan Bortnick as he makes his State Theatre debut! Songs will include Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” the Beatles’ “Let It Be,” Mozart’s “Ala Turka,” Little Richard’s “Good Golly Miss Molly,” and so much more. Bortnick, who is also a composer, songwriter, and actor, recently, taped his own one hour PBS Concert, which is scheduled to air August 2010 (he is the youngest musician to do so).
Bortnick, who is able to play any song by ear, began playing the keyboard at age three and was composing music by age five. He has performed with many well known artists and has been featured on many national and International television programs. He has also helped raised record amounts of money for charities around the world, by performing, inspiring, and educating. Some of Ethan’s television appearances include The Oprah Winfrey Show, Martha Stewart, Good Morning America, CBS Early Show, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Yo Gabba Gabba. In addition, on February 1st, 2010 Bortnick became the youngest artist to record with some 70 artists, the song “We are the World - 25 for Haiti.”
