The New York Philharmonic recently announced the creation of one of the world's largest prizes for contemporary classical music composition, The Marie-Josée Kravis Prize for New Music at the New York Philharmonic. The inaugural honoree is French composer Henri Dutilleux, and the award includes a concert of his music performed by the Philharmonic. Acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma will return to the Philharmonic stage for the first time in four years to perform Dutilleux's Cello Concerto. Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct.
