Based on the archive of Mamonov's great-grandfather who died in 1933 in the GULag, this mixed-media exhibition reflects the artist's personal reflection on the mechanisms of mind manipulation pursued by any dictatorship. Exhibition includes painting, photography with and without lightboxes and video art.
Bogdan Mamonov is a 2008 Kandinsky (Moscow) and 2009 Kandinsky (London) prize finalist, who has been exhibited widely in Europe and Russia and is now coming to New York for his American debut.
