DESCRIPTION:mark the 50th anniversary of the deportation of 1000 Roma and Sinti from Cologne has developed into the world’s largest decentralised monument.  Anne Thomas is half-French and half-American but grew up in the UK. She read European Studies with German and Russian at the University of Bath before doing an MA in European Cultural Policy and Arts Administration at Warwick University. In 2006, she earned a PhD in comparative literature and moved to Germany. She is now International Coordinator for Gunter Demnig’s Stolperstein project.  She also works as a freelance journalist and translator from German, French and Russian into English in Berlin.    In cooperation with the Chicago Race Riot 1919 Commemoration Project (CRR19)
