SUMMARY:Hammer and Silicon: The Soviet Diaspora in the US Innovation Economy
DESCRIPTION:Learn the untold story of over 150 technical professionals from the former Soviet Union who emigrated between 1970 and 2015 and contributed to the US innovation economy, particularly in software, social media, biotechnology, and medicine. Dr. Puffer, Professor of International Business at Northeastern University, is also an associate with the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University, and has served as program director of the Gorbachev Foundation of North America. Free. All welcome. This program is supported by a grant from the John and Mary Murphy Educational Foundation.
