The Barriuso siblings’ first feature film is based on their own father’s experience as a translator assisting Havana hospital staff with Ukrainian patients after the Chernobyl disaster. “Un Traductor” will be the opening film for Indie Pasion Film Festival. Un Traductor follows Malin, a professor of Russian Literature at the University of Havana who is forced to work as a translator for child victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster when they're sent to Cuba for medical treatment.
