The Russian River Alliance, an all volunteer organization, prevents homelessness in the well-loved vacation land of the Russian River in Sonoma, a favorite vacation destination of San Franciscans since the 1880’s! Businesses and activities employ seasonal workers who benefit greatly from tourism in the high seasons and can really suffer in the slow seasons. Sonoma County actually has one of the highest rates of homelessness in THE NATION due to its high cost of living and its reliance on tourism and agriculture.  It’s much more effective to PREVENT homelessness! The RRA is there to help in times of need and were true boots on the ground after February’s disastrous flood from which many locals are still recovering with several still out of their own homes. So let’s rally support for this long-time loved area and its people!
Some of the Russian River Alliance's successes:

In less than 2 years, 23 local working households, 33 adults, 17 kids and one unborn baby have received help with emergency rent or utilities with only $30,000! Very efficient!

$14k worth of Safeway gift cards have been distributed since the flood.

Five working families, some with infants and toddlers, one with a disabled elderly mother, who would otherwise be living in their cars have been placed in temporary hotel housing.
