SUMMARY:Media and Politics in the South Caucasus
DESCRIPTION:Karabakh. According to reports, top-level leadership of both Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to the journalistic exchange.
In light of this development, Georgetown's Professionals in Russian and East European Affairs are pleased to host a panel discussion on the state of media and the role of journalists in the South Caucasus in the context of the broader regional trends in civil society and governance.
What are the ways to lay the groundwork for an eventual agreement on N-K, including working to end hateful narratives and promoting people to people contacts in the South Caucasus? Is peace possible in N-K? What role specifically can journalists play in changing the negative and hostile views in the South Caucasus? How can journalists facilitate mutual understanding between different ethnic groups in Georgia?
