SUMMARY:The Northern White Mountains and Beyond
DESCRIPTION:After camping out at the well-known Dolly Copp campground Friday night, we'll drive north and hike out and back at Rogers Ledge, which supposedly has some of the best rock scrambling in NH. There are great views of the Pilot Range to the west here, and of the Presidential Range to the south. We'll camp out at Mollidgewock State Park Sat. night, then spend Sunday hiking at Dixville Notch State Park near Lake Gloriette, most of the way to the Canadian border. This will give great views of the nearby notch, lake and nearby mountains from rock outcroppings. Tabletop Rock (1.5 miles round-trip) is pictured, but we'll also do short hikes up and down Mt. Abnaki N. of and Mt. Sanguinary NE of the lake; the last at 5 miles round-trip is the longest hike of the three. So as not to rush the time at Dixville, we'll camp at Mollidgewock a second night, then drive back on Monday. I can spare taking two weekdays off if anyone is interesting in using a full four days, and leaving Friday morning. We could maybe do a short hike in NH or VT on the way up if we leave early. Trip subject to absence of CoVid-19-related mayhem. Bring normal hiking and camping gear, including clothing for sudden cold weather, sun protection and headlamp. NOTE: if people would prefer to make it a Thur.-Sun. trip instead of a Fri.-Mon. trip, please let me know well ahead of time.

How to find us: I'll give my tent location closer to the date of the trip. Make your own personal or group camping arrangements; spaces may go quickly once virus restrictions are lifted.
