SUMMARY:Dance and Movement For Actors
DESCRIPTION: Being an actor who moves well is no longer an option; it is a necessity for your career. In this 8-week workshop, actors will learn the basics of dance technique in a nurturing and non-judgmental environment. By acquiring a beginner's dance vocabulary based in ballet, modern, and jazz, students will engage in physical storytelling and ultimately feel more at home in their bodies, thus enabling you to approach any kind of dance with ease and confidence. Spanning the range of simple partner-dancing, improvisation, and learned choreography, this class will also culminate in an original group modern piece, to be choreographed by the instructor. Space is limited.
