DESCRIPTION:artists from the previous seasons with new programs, as well as completely new and very unexpected programs. 
Along with our new season, we are excited to announce our new package deals! The packages allow you to purchase a package of 3, 4, or 5 tickets to performances hosted by MAE for a discounted price. Subscription ticket holders will be assigned reserved seats closer to the stage.
3-show package: This package gives you the option of buying a 3-show performance package with MAE. This package includes 3 of the season performances of your choosing for a 15% discount. This package is available until September 1st.
4-show package: This package gives you the option of buying a 4-show performance package with MAE. This package includes 3 of the season performances of your choosing for a 20% discount. This package is available until September 1st.
5-show package: You now have the option to buy a 5-show performance package with MAE. This package includes 3 of the season performances of your choosing for a 25% discount. This package is available until August 12th.

Valery Ponomarev Quintet: "Made in America" Dedication to Art Blakey and Jazz Messengers - Shaare Shamayim Cultural Center, August 13th at 5 pm. 
Valery Ponomarev was born in the Soviet Union and became a musician and skilled trumpeter very early. After fleeing the country in 1973, he joined legendary jazz musician, Art Blakey and has performed with his group “The Jazz Messengers” for 10 years, playing sold-out audiences all over the world. He was the only Russian-born musician in the band's history.
Valery continues to perform all over the world with his own band. In 2016, he released an album entitled “Our Father Who Art Blakey,” which made the list of best albums of that year. This concert is the beginning of the series of his performances/dedications to the greatest jazz musicians of our time and…an incorporation of vinyl dance parties. Aleksey Alexandrov & Ekaterina Sklyar “From Baroque to Bluegrass” - Shaare Shamayim Cultural Center on 9/10/2017 at 5:00 pm.
These prize winning virtuosos of the domra, a Russian Folk instrument with a rich and diverse literature, are gracing our stages with their incredible talents as masters of the American style mandolin. They will be performing music drawing on classical and jazz traditions and melodies. Their repertoire includes classical music masterpieces, contemporary and jazz music, as well as their own compositions.
Adam C J Klein the Polysynthetic Artist “Music from Planet Earth” - Shaare Shamayim Cultural Center on 10/16/2017 at 6:00 pm.
Adam C J Klein finds beautiful and compelling songs from around the globe and sings them while accompanying himself on his handmade instruments. Regions likely to be represented in his performances include the United States, the British Isles, Eastern Europe, West Africa, Central Asia, and Japan. This concert program is intended to show that, while there are differences in quality within any musical genre, there is no qualitative difference, no matter how different it may sound, specifically between the music of the West and East, North and South, Mountains and Sea. Martin Soderberg “In Search of El Dorado” - Shaare Shamayim Cultural Center on 10/22/2017 at 5:00 pm
Of Swedish-Spanish descent, Mr. Martin Soderberg has been performing since the age of twelve, when he made his recital debut in Las Palmas, Spain. After being awarded the First Prize in the 1985 “Pilar Bayona” International Piano Competition in Zaragoza, Spain, he has performed extensively in Europe, Central America, South America, the USA, Canada and Asia. Martin’s new project “In Search of El Dorado” intends to uncover and elevate the Piano Music from Latin America and bring it into the International Concert Stage. Martin is not just an accomplished piano player, he is also a brilliant storyteller and will keep an audience fully engaged throughout the performance. For more information on the artist, please visit his website.
The Drozdoff Society Presents: “Reflections on the Music of the Russian Exodus: Vladimir Drozdoff” - Shaare Shamayim Cultural Center on 11/4/2017 at 8:00 pm
Vladimir Drozdoff, born in 1882 in Saratov, Russia, was one of the most prominent students of the legendary Russian pianist and pedagogue, Anna Esipova, and of the famous composer, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. He left the Soviet Union in 1925 on the famous “intelligentsia steamboat”. “Reflections” is the title of the 80-minute-long narrated program written and directed by the society’s co-founder George Borisov, in which Drozdoff’s legacy is explored and performed by him and other musicians, such as a brilliant pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov and Soprano Hanna Golodinskii along with recorded clips of the composer’s own performances. The presentation is coordinated with a dramatic video presentation of historic photographs and recordings from the Society’s archive. This program is dedicated to exploring the influence of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 on the culture of the West. For more information on Drozdoff society, please, visit their Facebook page.
