UKRAINE, SHEVCHENKO & MUSIC
Celebrating the Bicentennial of the Ukraine’s National Poet Taras Shevchenko
with Solomiya Ivakhiv, violin and Angelina Gadeliya, piano. 
Program includes Shevchenko’s poetry set to music by such composers as Mussorgsky, Rachmaninov, Silvestrov, Skoryk, and Lysenko. Ms. Dyka, heard last fall in Prince Igor at the Metropolitan Opera, will sing the title role in Aida at the Met in April. Instrumental pieces by Beethoven, Vieuxtemps, and a premiere by Alexander Shchetynsky for violin and piano complete the program.
