JOSS JAFFE


(Tabla, Guitar, Cajon)





Joss Jaffe roots his music in his desire to unite people through spirit, love, joy, community, and consciousness. He is a multi-instrumentalist, focusing on tabla, bass, and guitar, who also teaches the ragas and rhythms of India. Joss began playing guitar and writing songs at age 9, and, introduced to the music of India through the chanting of his parents and their meditation teacher Baba Muktananda, began studying tabla, sarode & vocal with Montino Boubon at 15, and later, with Ali Akbar Kahn, Swapan Chaudhuri, and Zakir Hussain. He collaborates with artists of varied cultures and languages to create a nexus of new music discovery, and for many years has accompanied Jai Uttal, Steve Kimock, Alex Grey, Rachel Brice, Silvia Nakkach, and Shimshai. He has toured multiple continents, and recorded several albums, while his work as a producer and composer has been critically acclaimed by LA Yoga Magazine, the UK’s Om Magazine, and other prominent publications.





JEREMY MARAIS


(Alto and Baritone Saxophone, Clarinet, Percussion)





Born and raised in the French Alps, Jeremy started to study saxophone as a kid and very soon developed a strong interest for improvised music. He has been living and studying traditional music in various parts of the world: West Africa, Spain, India, Turkey and Israel. As a multi-instrumentalist, Jérémy, in addition to alto and baritone sax, performs with frame drum, balafon and clarinet. He played and recorded with French bands L' Amarante, Le Grotorkestre, Israeli bands Sumsumband, Madboojah project, Portuguese band Terrakota, Burkina Faso band Farafina, Indian band Rajasthan Roots, . While living in France, Jérémy opened for musicians like Louis Sclavis, Rabi Abu Khalil, Michel Godard.





SUELLEN PRIMOST


(Cello)





A seasoned, highly sought-after cellist, recording artist, improviser and sound healer, Suellen is known for her soulful expressivity, creative imagination and versatility across genres, ranging from Classical, Ambient and Jazz to many types of World Music: Celtic, Roma, Turkish, Arabic and Indian Classical. For over a decade, Suellen served as Music Director for The Artship Ensemble, an innovative, traveling dance theatre company based in San Francisco, creating scores for 10 productions. Suellen has also played on films and performed with acclaimed vocalist, Silvia Nakkach, hang drum maestra, Laura Inserra, gifted oudist, Gary Hegedus, digeridoo maestro, Stephen Kent, jazz trumpeter, Jeff Oster, and percussionist Peter Maund. Other collaborators and ensembles include North Indian vocalist, Shivpreet Singh, soundhealers Eostar Kamala, Buddy Comfort and Clare Hedin, Soul Tones/ Crystal Infinity, The Murmurations Duo (with Jeremy Marais), Ya L’ayl, Spiral Dance Chamber Jazz, Hardly Strictly Jazz with Jon Rubin, The Pacifica Duo with Larry Walker, and The Espiritu (Classical) Ensembles.





ERIC OLSON


(Sitar, Hang drum, Gongs)





Eric started playing music in orchestra and band as a child and then developed a passion for the guitar as a teenager. He has traveled extensively around the world with his guitar and first started performing as a busker on the streets of Taiwan while working as an English teacher. He has collected many instruments from around the world and studied sitar in India as well as the Bay Area. He has also studied bhakti music and kirtan with Jai Uttal. Eric has played gongs and flutes for sound baths at the Oregon Eclipse Festival and Bhakti Fest. Eric seeks to create sacred improvisational music that is transcendental and transformative.

Seema is a multi-faceted experience creator weaving fashion & movement artistry into her mystically ethereal “GlamaZen” performances rooted in Eastern and Western influences. She has been recognized for her modeling & performance talents as a semi-finalist on Cycle 4 of the TV show “America’s Next Top Model” and a finalist in the Miss India USA 2005 pageant. Seema’s performances leverage various dance & yogic inspirations including classical & contemporary Bollywood fusion dance forms as well as Kundalini yoga and Sufi whirling. Her performance fusions are a form of dance meditation utilizing movement, breath-work, and mindfulness to induce a state of expanded consciousness and to raise her vibration along with her audiences’ vibrations.

Elisa Dawn Valentine is a sound healer, healing artist, and yoga teacher with training at Vox Mundi School of the Voice, Esalen Institute and 4 years of experience as a full time RYT 200-hr certified yoga teacher. She specializes in natural singing and the spoken word in addition to working with the crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, & aromatherapy. Originally from Sonora, CA Elisa is a Yogastrology® Inspired Instructor and holds her BA in Theatre Arts from Santa Clara University. (sparkleyogini@gmail.com)





LEO RADERMAN


(Alto Saxophone, Native American Flute, Percussion)





A descendent of Russian Klezmorim, Leo founded The Sonic Shamanic to create community around the exploration of healing resonance and transcendent melody. An inventor by profession, Leo graduated from the Sound, Voice, and Music in the Healing Arts Certificate Program at the California Institute of Integral Studies, is a practitioner of Holotropic Breathwork, and holds a Masters degree in Systematic and Philosophical Theology from the Graduate Theological Union at UC Berkeley.
