DESCRIPTION:We will invite visionary business leaders to share their career experiences with attendees through dialogues with Andy Serwer, editor-in-chief of Yahoo Finance. In addition, we will invite six to eight senior professionals and HR advisors from different industries to exchange information and experiences with young people at the events. We hope that this series can not only provide a networking platform for young people, but also an opportunity to brainstorm on their future careers and lives.

As Chairman/CEO, Kathleen M. Doyle leads the growth strategy for Doyle. Her in-depthknowledge of the art and auction market, combined with her commitment to providingbuyers and consignors with personalized service, has enabled the gallery to significantlyexpand the worldwide client base and has increased the range of offerings at auction.She established the Middle-Atlantic States office in Washington, DC that serves theSouthern Region of the United States.
Recognizing the opportunity in the global art market, Mrs. Doyle negotiated internationalstrategic alliances in London and Paris. To accommodate consignors and collectors outsideof New York City, she established a network of regional representatives throughout theAtlantic seaboard and in key markets in the West. Mrs. Doyle spearheaded the developmentof online client services with a state of the art Internet site, adding Internet bidding capabilitiesfirst with Amazon.com, and eBay, and currently with Artfact and on DoyleNewYork.com.Mrs. Doyle initiated an extensive education program at Doyle for collectors includinglectures and seminars featuring specialists in art, design, fashion, jewelry, etc. Doylewas the first auction gallery to provide appraisers to The Antiques Roadshow and hassupported WGBH as an underwriter of the program since 1996. Mrs. Doyle alsodeveloped programs to provide free appraisal and auction services for museums andnot-for-profit organizations, schools, universities, hospitals and medical schools andcommunity services.
Mrs. Doyle first joined her husband, William J. Doyle, founder of William Doyle Galleries,in 1968, as Director of Jewelry Exhibitions. She later left to pursue graduate studies.Mrs. Doyle served as Parent Education Specialist at the New York Medical College’s EarlyChildhood Development Center, and, following that, she founded the Parent EducationProgram in the Department of Pediatrics at St. Vincent’s Hospital. For eight years shedirected the early intervention program to provide an interdisciplinary team approach topre and post-natal parent education, family support and advocacy. She rejoined DoyleNew York in 1992, and, after her husband’s death in 1993, she assumed responsibilitiesas Chairman/CEO.

From the world of music were the estates of the legendary New York City Operasoprano Beverly Sills and Broadway actress and singer Barbara Cook, as well as musicians LouisArmstrong, Duke Ellington and Count Basie, and actress and chanteuse Lena Horne. Doylealso auctioned the estate of Lady Sarah Consuelo Spencer-Churchill, sister of the Duke ofMarlborough, as well as the collection of Alice Appleton Hay, daughter-in-law to John MiltonHay, President Abraham Lincoln's private secretary. Among Doyle’s recent sales of importantsingle-owner collections are El Morocco: The John Perona Collection, the collection of acclaimedfashion designer Adolfo, rare books and autographs deaccessioned from the New York City BarAssociation, and Ansel Adams Museum Set sold on behalf of The College of New Rochelle.Decorators and designers whose collections were auctioned at Doyle include David Easton,Keith Irvine, Ronald Grimaldi, Robert Denning, Jamie Drake, Jay Spectre and Fabio Silva. Fromthe fashion world were the estates of Bonnie Cashin, Joe Eula, Geraldine Stutz, and fashion editorand Old Navy spokeswoman Carrie Donovan. Other notable couture auctions include the collectionsof actress Marisa Berenson, opera diva Marion Anderson, and fashion retailers Martha Phillips andLynn Manulis, as well as costume jewelry from the collections of Ann Getty and Brigid Berlin.Doyle is well known for its on-site auctions, including the sale of treasures from two legendaryNew York restaurants, Maxwell's Plum and the celebrated Russian Tea Room as well as notableon-site auctions of the estate of Mets owner Joan Whitney Payson and the estate of theacclaimed American painter Ogden Pleissner.
