SUMMARY:Reconfiguring the Trauma Market
DESCRIPTION:interventions into conflict and social justice re-configure the governance of trauma in contemporary Bosnia and Herzegovina. It engages a productive critique of the ‘trauma market’ within post-conflict societies and proposes ways out of the increasing threats to justice, security and development in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as globally. It further demands enhancing the transformative potentials, agents, and actions that struggle against social and political violence and inequality through hopeful politics at the grassroots level. Jasmina Husanovic (PhD, University of Wales) is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a chair of Cultural Studies. Her research interests are in cultural and political theory and praxis dealing with the politics of witnessing, equality and solidarity, governance of life and culture of trauma, as well as emancipatory politics with a focus on intersecting public spaces of cultural and knowledge production (critical pedagogies in art, education and activism). Husanovic is currently a Visting Fulbright Scholar at Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, Stanford University.
