SUMMARY:Russian Pavilion 10th exhibition opening
DESCRIPTION:S.A., Europe and Asia. The Russian Pavilion is envisioned as a forum for critics, collectors and connoisseurs to view the works and to have an unique possibility to meet some of the artists in person.
The inaugural Russian Pavilion took place in New York in March of 2013 and coincided with the centennial of the famous 1913 New York Armory Show which introduced the American public to European avant-garde, including works by Paul Cezanne, Marcel Duchamp, Pablo Picasso and others. As a participant of Armory Arts Week, Russian Pavilion will present its 10th exhibition scheduled to open on March 5th at One Art Space located in TriBeCa at 23 Warren St., New York, NY, 10007.
Russian Pavilion embraces Russian culture in the United States plus cultural and historical memory and intercultural interpretations. Some of the artworks presented in the show strike and amaze the viewer’s imagination, emphasizing their unique-subjective human essence, with meaning shifting just beneath the surface. The juxtaposition and collision of different artistic individualities, styles and media make the Russian Pavilion of great interest to today’s public. The show features paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints, photography, video installations and performances created in search for self-expression and a unique vision. Participating artists are: Ernst Neizvestny, Alexander Ney, Mihail Chemiakin, Artem Mirolevich, Yuri Kuper, Anton Kuznetsov, Olga Minebaeva, Alexander Zakharov, Igor Vishnyakov, Valery Yershov, Katya Filippova, Den Marino, Sergey Dozhd, Vladimir Bukiya.
