DESCRIPTION:bilateral relations and cooperation in strategic sectors, but also to the presence of an important Russian émigré community that can act as a transmitter of influence.
Carnegie Council senior fellow Marlene Laruelle, accompanied by Jean-Yves Camus and Nicolas Lebourg, will discuss the role of the Russian emigration and Russian cultural institutions in France, the contacts existing between Russia and French far right, and the support Russia may receive from some more mainstream political movements and business actors.
Marlene Laruelle is senior fellow at Carnegie Council and research professor and associate director at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (IERES) at The Elliott School of International Affairs, The George Washington University.
Jean-Yves Camus is a political analyst and an associate research fellow at the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs.
Nicolas Lebourg is a researcher at the University of Montpellier and member of the Observatory of Political Radicals (ORAP) of the Jean Jaurès Foundation.
