SUMMARY:How AI Helps Next Generation Vehicles Become More Human
DESCRIPTION:experience as rich as human to human communication. These interactive systems of tomorrow have to be able to handle other modalities than just speech and take into account the emotional and cognitive states of their users to become more intuitive, effective, and safe.
In this webcast, Affectiva will host Dr. Nils Lenke, Senior Director of Innovation Management at Nuance Communications. Dr. Lenke will explore two areas of improvements in communication between humans and our vehicles. The first is how multi-modality (combining visual and auditory expressions) is a key feature of all human communication, and how these capabilities can be re-built with technology. Second, Dr. Lenke will discuss how a whole dimension of this communication is still missing - that is, the emotional state of a speaker being expressed by non-verbal signals. So how will we be able to know the emotional states of drivers and passengers? And how will the systems themselves express emotions?
Join us on Thursday, June 28th @ 11:00am EDT to find out in the full presentation, which also includes a number of case studies (including Toyota Concept-I car and Mercedes MBUX) to really experience what this adaptive behavior can look like.
In this webcast, attendees will learn:

How important multi-modality is and how it can be realized with new technologies

What is still missing in Voice User Interfaces in modern cars, and what capabilities exist today

How to detect emotions with technology, express emotions with AI, and appreciate the emotional side of communication.

The challenges that in-cabin HMI has had to date

How Nuance and Affectiva are collaborating to make the in-cabin experience more intuitive, intelligently interactive and safe -- in a multi-modal way.

We look forward to seeing you there!
