He graduated from MIPTin theoretical physics. In 1992 he emigrated from Russia, and in 2005, joined the faculty as a Professor in the Physics Department at Lehman College in New York. He is the author of many poetry books, and has published in magazines such as Khreshchatyk, Word / Word, Poet Magazine, Ra Children, and 45th Parallel. He is editor of the Bulletin of Pushkin society.
