Nearly two years since Russia’s interference, important parts of our election infrastructure remains perilously weak. Congress has stalled efforts to implement critical protections and the window for taking major action ahead of the midterms has all but closed. Given this dire predicament, how can we quickly and effectively recover from another attack? Absent action from Congress, what steps must we take to ensure that the results of our elections are legitimate and widely perceived to be so?
