Subconsciously, he plays out a Shakespearian drama in his own family, unable to comprehend that his actual situation is much simpler than Lear’s, and that he is far from Lear himself. Before the viewer’s eyes, a commonplace family story turns into a great tragedy, and no one will be spared.
