Description

The New York Botanical Garden is a museum of plants, an educational institution, and a scientific research organization. Founded in 1891 and now a National Historic Landmark, it is one of the greatest botanical gardens in the world and the largest in any city in the United States, distinguished by the beauty of its diverse landscape and extensive collections and gardens, as well as by the scope and excellence of its programs in horticulture, education, and science.

The Garden is open year-round, Tuesday to Sunday,
10 a.m.-6 p.m.
except for the following dates with early closings:

January 13, 2009–February 27, 2009: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

May 20, 2009: 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

June 4, 2009: 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

By Metro-North Railroad: Take the Metro-North Harlem local line to Botanical Garden Station. Walk across Kazimiroff Boulevard to the Garden's Mosholu Gate entrance.
Just 20 minutes from Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan
Also convenient from other locations

By Subway: Take the B, D, or 4 train to Bedford Park Blvd Station. From the station exit: 
• Take the Bx 26 bus east to the Garden's Mosholu Gate entrance. 
• OR walk eight blocks down the hill on Bedford Park Blvd to the end (approximately 20 minutes). Turn left onto Kazimiroff Blvd and walk one block to Mosholu Gate entrance.
