Exclusively in Brooklyn, meet Russian actor Veniamin Smekhov, who reads from his memoir “Theater of My Memory”, a meditation on his 40-year career as a lead actor in Liubimov’s famed Taganka Theater. Smekhov joins us for very special evening reading the poetry of A. Pushkin, V. Maykovsky, I.Severyanin, V.Visotskii, J. Brodsky, as well as from his memoir “Theater of My Memory”. He will hold a conversation with the audience about his latest movie “The Return of Musketeers.” Event will be held in Russian.

Veniamin Smekhov is a Russian actor and stage director. Smekhov has long worked in the Moscow Taganka Theatre where his roles have included Woland in a stage adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov’s “The Master and Margarita”. In film, he is most known and loved for the role of Athos in a Russian version of The Three Musketeers (1978) and its sequels (1992, 1993, 2008). He has also written children’s poetry, scripts, memoirs and comedy.
