Sino-Russian Relation in a Historical Perspective

The territorial dispute between China and Russia was not resolved until shortly before 20 years ago. The embryonic form of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was established to settle the territorial disputes between China and the former Soviet Union after their disintegration. Today's Sino Russian relations are not as smooth as they seem. A considerable number of Russians are sceptical of China's investment in the Far East area as a gradual annexation of the region by China.
This mentality will affect the normal relationship as well as the economic exchanges between the two countries, and can not be ignored. Cathay's Review will discuss the historical legacy of the Sino-Russian border and its possible impact on Sino-Russian relations today.
