Costume, Humor and Movie with the Whole Megilah

The festival of Purim celebrates the survival of the Jewish people despite all odds, based on the experience of the Jews of Iran 2500 years ago.There will be a special screening of the a Jewish film classic , Hester Street, a recreation of the struggles and efforts of  "greenhorn" immigrants making their way in the strange shores of America over a century ago. We will also be treated to a performance by a Russian folk dance ensemble.  Merry-makers are asked to come in costume, bring a desert or light liquor to share with eight others, and bring canned or boxed food for charity. This way, you can fulfill the Mitzvah to be so merry that you cant tell Haman from Mordecai, to offer gifts for those in need, and to share goodies with our friends.
