Made in America: The Valery Ponomarev Jazz Quintet

We are elated to announce that the Valery Ponomarev Jazz Quintet, a group formed right here in the USA, will be performing a multitude of hits based on the American jazz tradition at our next event.
The group was founded by Mr. Valery Ponomarev, a Russian-born trumpeter. After fleeing the Soviet Union in the 1970s, Mr. Ponomarev joined The Jazz Messengers, a world-renowned jazz combo led by the legendary Art Blakey. In 2016, Mr. Ponomarev paid tribute to his mentor and friend in the form of an album, entitled Our Father Who Art Blakey. The quintet will be performing multiple songs from this album, along with a variety of covers that audience members of all ages will recognize and enjoy. Their set list is filled with songs that are bound to get your feet tapping, so we encourage all audience members to dance along during the performance!
We are very excited to host an event that will showcase such talented and dedicated musicians. With your support, this program will spark the beginning of a new jazz tradition in Northeast Philadelphia. 

If you love jazz and want to share this with your children, they can attend this event for free if they are under 12 years of age.

FAQs
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is plenty of free parking behind the synagogue. You can also take Septa bus #67 from the Frankford Transportation Center, which will bring you right to the entrance.  Do not forget to use our Fanzone app-- it will help you select the most appropriate method of transportation.
What is the refund policy?
If you cannot make it to the event, tickets can be refunded one day prior to the performance.
