FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE Screening at the Vista!

Powered by a magnetic and exuberant performance from Sean Connery in his prime, and starring possibly the best Bond Female lead (along with On Her Majesty’s Diana Rigg and 2006 Casino Royale’s Eva Green), Daniela Bianchi, From Russia With Love tells a very riveting cat and mouse spy caper as James Bond knowingly takes bait (a device that can decode Russian communications) dangled by international terrorist organization, Spectre, and the unwitting Russians.
Bond’s adventure takes him to Istanbul, a long and potentially fatal ride on the Orient Express train, and finally Venice, Italy to determine if he can outsmart Spectre or if he is playing right into their hands.  This movie is so perfect and so much fun that Steven Spielberg and George Lucas essentially reconfigured it and made Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade based on the best sequences here.  Also, all the elements are in perfect balance. Connery was never better than he is here. He owns every single scene. But so too do the female lead, Russian spy Daniela Bianchi, and psychotic assassin, Robert Shaw (later to show up in his masterpiece performance in Jaws!).  
Come watch this programmer’s personal favorite Bond movie.  Nobody does it better!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:  TICKETS: Tickets are available online at Eventbrite.com or through each individual event on our Facebook Page: movieclub35mm. Just make sure you verify the date, time, and location (The Vista Theater, 4473 Sunset Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90027). We also make tickets available at the Vista Box Office.
REFUNDS: We will honor all refund requests as long as they are made 24 hours or more before the listed start time of the screening. After that, no refunds. Sorry.
HOW DOES THE ALL-ACCESS (APRIL-JUNE 2018) PASS WORK: If you buy an ALL-ACCESS PASS (access to all 26 movies we’re showing from April-June 2018), you get entrance into every single movie we show throughout our Spring Season.  This is our best deal at $170 (roughly $6.50 per movie).  No matter through which movie you buy the ALL-ACCESS PASS, we generate a special list with your name on it. All you have to do is come to our table ahead of each movie, give us your name, and get your ticket.
HOW DOES THE SERIES PASS WORK: If you buy an Individual Series Pass, you gain entrance to all movies in that series.  This is our next best deal after the All-Access Pass.  If you know you can make April but not May (for example), this is the way to go.  Each Series Pass is different depending on how many movies are shown in that series. So for instance if we are showing 6 movies in the series, the pass would cost $54 (or $9 per movie).  If we are showing 10 movies in the series, the pass would cost $90, and so on. No matter through which movie you buy the Individual Series Pass, we generate a special list with your name on it. All you have to do is come to our table ahead of each movie, give us your name, and get your ticket. 
MOVIEPASS: Yes! The Vista does accept MoviePass for our events (as of March 2018). There is an additional charge of $3-$4 per ticket because we are a private event. So if you want to use MoviePass, you can; you just need to get your tickets in person (and bring $3-$4/per MoviePass ticket) at the Vista Box Office anytime they are open.
CONCESSIONS: The Vista Concessions stand is open for all our events. So you will always have access to popcorn, soda, candy, coffee the works!
PARKING: The Vista has no dedicated parking lot. Thankfully, there is lots of parking in the residential areas around the Vista Theater. Just plan to get to the theater 15 minutes earlier than normal so you have enough time to park, get your tickets, get in line. Make sure you read the street signs to make sure you are good to park! We don’t want any Secret Movie Clubbers getting parking tickets. 
SHOWTIMES: We screen our movies before or after the Vista’s official movies. This is why most of our showtimes are either at midnight or 10:30am in the morning. We will be screening several movies during more regular hours (8pm-10pm) this year when we have a special speaker or event. Always check the listed showtime before buying your ticket.  MAILING LIST: We started as a secret email list way back in April of 2016. In respect to our origins, we will always announce our upcoming seasons, special events, and speakers via the email list first before posting to Facebook or anywhere else.
