Meet the authors Daphne Kalotay and Crystal King at The Hawthorne Inn

bestseller Russian Winter has been published in 23 countries. Daphne's short story, "Relativity," was Boston Book Festival's 2017 One City One Story selection. Daphne has taught writing and literature at Boston University, Emerson College, UMASS Boston, Harvard's Division of Continuing Education, Middlebury College, and Princeton University.
Crystal King's debut novel, Feast of Sorrow, explores the life of Marcus Gavius Apicius, who reputedly wrote the world's oldest known cookbook. Her second novel, The Secret Chef, slated to be published in February 2019, is the story of famous Italian Renaissance chef, Bartolomeo Scappi, the cuoco segreto (private cook) to several Popes. In addition to pursuing a career in social media, marketing, and community management, Crystal has taught writing, creativity and social media at UMass Boston, Boston University, Mass College of Art, Harvard Extension School and Grub Street.
