Across the planet in almost all major activities, be it Basketball ,Soccer,Football,Acting/Theater ,Politics,Dancing,Business/Wall Street,Music Rap Reggae Rock and so on. you always come across "Male" individuals who have archived high levels of success, whom were raised by a "Mother" in a single parent house hold. My Story is about a fun and lovable little "Girl" (Lil Plum Muffin) raised by a single "Father" in a single parent house hold, who grows up to be a successful charming and engaging young "Lady" A story I grantee to be a really fun read for all ages that delivers a powerful message to "Young Ladies", "Single Dads/Mums" one that will make you want to go home and hug your children.My campaign is to raise funding for editing publishing trips to a few book fairs and promotional purposes , here is what the main draft of the story looks like so far, Thanks for reading.------------------------------------------------------------------I had a one-night standone time, not my proudestmoment but we all get lonely here and thereany way three years later I am at home and I get a knock on the door low and behold the girl is standing there holding a very beautiful a really scared looking little girl, she hands her to me says here you go all yours????I look at this kid she is looking so scared Given the way this woman just dumped this kid at my door step and the way she looked not to mention her attempts to hit me up for some cash "reimbursement she says for what she spent on the child so far which by looking at this little girl was not much" I ask this woman before she leaves to sign a document stating that I am going to be the sole guardian of this little girl which she did. Then she leaves and I am sitting there in my tiny bachelor apartment looking at this angel who just fell on my laps and she is sitting there on the edge of my bed her little feet not even touching the ground looking frightened just looking at the floor, I had to break the ice so I ask her what she likes to eat I get a notepad and we make a list all the stuff she liked mostly all the bad things I liked when I was a kid sodas candy ice cream yada yada,when we were done with the list I asked/ say to her come on baby girl let’s take a walk to the corner store where I get credit, for beer mostly (little did I know that was last time I would be having a brewsky in a long time) this time I walk into the store and owner Tim is standing there and I "tells" him you know I always get beer on credit but you see that little girl over there he says yes I tell him the whole story I give him the list tell him all this is for her please can you help us out, he looks at my daughter and says ok also when her mom dropped her off she had a whole bag of her clothes all dirty(I had laundry soap on the list)and then I asked him if he could also spot me 5 bucks in quarters so I could do some laundry he said yes, cool. We got home and she is still scared poor girl just been ditched with this guy she has never seen in her life (and I had a feeling it was not the first time)so I give her some ice cream just to break the ice she is still not talking but she was liking the ice cream, then I said come baby girl lets go do some laundry took her clothes all my dirty stuff bed sheets and all went and put them in the washer came back upstairs gave her a soda and made her a toasted cheese sandwich (the best I could come up with I know when I was that age I would have lived my whole life on them two with a soda ,,,hey dont judge) after that we got our laundry and I made the bed up for her and told to get some rest.at first she did not go right to sleep she just sat there looking at me and I sat on my chair watching TV, I was not looking at her because I didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable .eventually she did fall asleep and I sat and just looked at her she did look like me, anyway I fell asleep too and about two hours later I was startled from my sleep I turned to look at my bed were she was sleeping and she was huddled up by the corner of the bed looking terrified like a little mouse would have when you are feeding it to your snake. so gently I got up and went over to the bed and asked what was wrong she was scared, like she looked really scared it was heartbreaking to see. then I felt the bed and I realized she had peed in her sleep I guess she must have thought I would be mad and also kick her out or maybe scream Or G-d forbid smack her, but I asked her is this why you are scared because you peed in your sleep? don’t worry about it sweetie I used to pee in my bed till I was 12 you be fine then we ran a bath for her while she was in there taking a bath I flipped the mattress and put dry covers for her then when she was done I put her back in the bed and I asked her are you scared? and she nodded and I said to her me too I have never been a dad before but am sure we will make it and sweetheart maybe no more liquids before bedtime from now on. That was my first night with my daughter.next morning, I got up and made some salami and cheese sandwiches got some sodasgot a blanket put them in a backpack and we went to this legal aid place and I told them someone dropped this little girl at my house last night told me she was my daughter, what they did was send me to a place to get a paternity test and the results were positive she was mine with the test results which we got by midday we went to the San Francisco courthouse but first we spread the blanket down on the lawn in front of city hall and I gave her a sandwich and a soda and we sat down and had a picnic while she was munching I asked her if she liked her name which by the way was Julie and she shook her head and said no so I asked her what she thought about Raydia Chihota and she smiled and nodded so we finished our lunch and went to the court house and got her a birth certificate with my name on it as her Dadand her new name Raydia.When we got that done we went to the local salvation army and they gave us some more clothes for her. Pajamas little girlie stuff that made her smile that was a breakthru. After that I made arrangements to get some cable the basic channels we had to get her cartoon networks till then all I really needed was google when we got home I have a chest of drawers real low with a smooth flat surface and two huge pull out drawers on the front we put her clothes in one of them and the first of her toy collection in the other I had a small mattress kind of like a yoga mat only thicker and we made her a little nook in my little spot but all was good she was at least starting to get her glow back one morning like 2 months later on a Saturday I woke up and was watching her she did not notice I was watching her though anyway she pulls the stool We had climbed on it and got some cocopuffs from the top of the fridge then got some milk made herself some breakfast then went back to her spot and put on Saturday morning cartoons that’s when I really knew beyond a shadow off a doubt this was my kid ; all this time "minus the brewsky" I brushed up on my coding because plainly given these new developments I had to get back in the race with the rats.Also we had to get daycare for at this point little Madame queen of our little castlethat is when the jugging started I mean you have to understand coming from single no give a shit attitude back ground I got hit with a curve ball ;so our routine was I drop her off at daycare go to work then come pick her up after work I tell you in a city like San Francisco that is a “mission” on its own right, so about like 3 weeks into this new arraignment there was a traffic jam and I was late to pick her up when I got to her daycare she the only kid at the school with a teacher standing there and she looked like she was going to cry and she gives me this hug and tells me I thought you were not coming to get me and I told her no sweetheart I am your father I am not going anywhere. Anyway the ride home that day was to talk about it is like I opened up a can off jibba jabba and some "in the cutest way of course “all the way home on the 19 bus she would not stop talking about you know little 3year old drama stuff like billy pulled sallys hair and made her cry billy is mean yadda yadda anyway long story short it was a major milestone in our lives. one morning a few weeks later I woke up and she was next to me snoring I asked her when she woke up how she ended up in my bed and she said she had a bad dream and she said she was scaredit was a tuff time just trying to find something fun to do everything was fun My daughter was just a "Ray" off sunshine were once it was dark. I asked her one day what you think about physics trying to figure out how she is understandig the da to0ns she is watching she asks me what you mean like atomsI was shocked again at a decent age of 12 I had no clue what an atom wasso I say yes theoretical physics though and she says saw that on star trek what’s that is it like a field in physics were you can make sense of all this .I was at this point starting to think to myself little miss queen know it all might just be a genius at least a sevat first though I had to test her the first question to prove someone is not stupid I think is to ask them "are you stupid??" and she looks at me and says you don’t think so do you??? Then she smiles and does a little twirl dance and says see I know it I am not stupid not stupid not stupid never never stupid!! My miss butterfly I was so proud of her ,next came the bicycle training time she was a terror we went to oakland to the walmart we dont do walmart in San Fransico and got her a bike helmet knee pads all the stuff I needed when I was cracking my head open trying to learn how to ride a bike at a tender age of 12 I was thinking to myself dang when driving age rolls around watch out but my little girl had guts though she fell one time ( at first she asked me not let go which I did as soon as she started peddling it was so funny how I said ok I wont let go lol I think personally that is when she fell when she looked back and saw I let go lol) and that was it she mastered her bike after that funny thinking back I must have fallen a dozen times (12) before I could even ride my first bike round the small home my folks had in waterfalls Harare , for a three year old Raydia was much smarter then I was at three I guess they just don’t make them like they did in the 70's it was a feeling I cannot put in writing watching this young child finally in her young life so far feeling safe and just looking happy and gaining so much confidence times I used to wake up on the bad months when I was overwhelmed and things looked like they were falling apart and just the smile on her face turned my frown upside downthe best was football season I remember the first 49er game we watched together I said to her now sweetheart don’t read too much into this I know we are playing like this now but we do have a few rings on us and she is looking at me like ok and the point in her own smart little miss sunshine kind off way anyway Raydia I like to believe by end of the first quarter had a better understanding of the game then the head coach did she was like Steven why doesn’t he just throw the ball I was laughing off my lower backside at this point next day I dug into the rainy day fund and we went and got some san Francisco 49er gear which she did not seem to want to change out off we had the most interesting talks on wash days something like you know butterfly you gotta wear something else so we can wash that stuff she would always be eyeballing me like I was taking the last piece of candy in the bowlthen I noticed she started to gravite from cartoon network to Kqed and all the history channels once again at 3 years old I was trying to figure out who batman was,or how many peas i could fit in my nose ( those bets never ended well) but not Raydia she even had a theory on why batman could kick superman’s ass I would need a whole new life time too explain it to you I have to say though she made a few good points her first question was why is superman wearing his underwear outside his pants? at this point I was like cupcake just eat your toasted cheese sandwich (at this point I am ODING the poor child on them lol), I had no come back I had nothing. then she saw this advertisement on the idiot box about the ultimate ninja juicer and how healthy it would make you and I never heard the end off it till we got one then she started making recipes for your heart, liver ,kidney and what got me was a mix she came up with for your brain I have no clue where this a some year old heard of omega oil at the tender age of 12 I know I didn’t (I guess she must have picked that up from Dr OZ somehow the Idiot box had an opposite affect on cupcake)I was going to make sure this little princess would enjoy her life she would go too her prom have fun but most of all she was going to collegeso my mission was to start planting success into her little brain so I would challenge her every month with a different book the first was George Owells Animal Farm she really liked “Boxer” the horse made sense to me I did too for a three year old reading a book like that to her it was interesting seeing how she grasped the unfairness that this world brought at times but kept an open mind one morning she wakes up and while I am getting her ready for daycare she says Steven can we get a farm (after alL the laughter died down and I got enough wind back in me to pick myself up from the floor)at first I told her we have one already in a village were your grandfather and I come from then she asks what is it called and I tell her Chihota of cause. At the same time I was like where did this come from anyway at this point she is on a roll and my little miss Sunshine says we can have a better farm anyway on the bus ride to her daycare I sold her on the idea that a farm might be too much for us right now but if I got some plants and she watered them and they lived it would be a start so that day before I picked her up I went to a nursery and got a plant for her to look after I got her a resilient one of the cactus variety so it did not die on her she loved it she took good care of it then one day out of the blue she asks for a puppy or get a pony, now folks we had for that moment in time what we needed just not enough to feed another mouth but she did not need to know all that so I asked her if we could get some goldfish first and see where it goes from there and so I got her two gold fish she loved them I got her a gold and a black one we also got an aquarium with a black light she loved them it was cool at least she was happy that meant everything to me she woke up next morning and she woke me up just to say she was happy, happy! that meant a big deal to me.Time went by and our little crib just was not going to cut it so we had to get a little two bedroom spot as cool as that was folks I had to get another job 4 days a week I would come home at 11pm thank G-d we had this Nigerian lady next door who would look after her even though at our new spot she had her own room I made her a spot at the corner of my room mainly because when I got home from work she was sleeping I had to carry her home and I did not want her to wake up in her room alone one time not to long after that I wake up and smell bacon frying and I am like what the ?? so I get up look in the kitchen and little muffin has the stove going she has bacon eggs frying now my first instinct was to run up and ask what she thought she was doing but I chilled watched her for a little bit longer then went back to bed about 30 minutes I am getting a nudge from her and she has bacon and eggs some toast and orange juice which funny enough was the one thing she got on the floor that was cool for a 3 year old I had to give her ,her props and then we made a deal if she ever thought of making dinner at least in the next decade I had to be in on it.Then summer camp time came around I have to admit I was loving my know it all little lady and deep down I did not want her to go away but she had to it was all the processes of growing up and close friends were telling me, I could also use the break so the dilemma at least that’s what I thought was what kind of camp but if you been keeping up with me so far you probably figured little miss sunshine had it all figured out, her main concern was who was going to "look after me" when she was gone to camp anyway she chose a science camp go figure all the way to the place I was dropping her off to go to camp she is the one giving me instructions all the water my plants so and so feed my fish so and so years later come to find out she had made arraignments with the Nigerian Lady next door to check up on me and make sure I was ok the lady said to me she asked her "please look after my Daddy" all this time with me we had always been on a first name basis. See the night I first met my daughter I told her to call me Steve of course over time it changed to Steven I did this because firstly she had just been dropped off on my door step and I did not want to place any of societies "norms" on her it was touching to hear that .now all you with no heart or feel my story is becoming all sentimental if you got guts stick around there is so much more to come that month when she was at camp I was lost for the first time in a pretty while I was waking up with no purpose in life I kept the house clean though (also had a beer or twelve) shit I had nothing else to do I did manage to stack up on some savings most of which went to her college fund the day she came back from camp I was a kid going to a candy store when I went to pick her up seeing her jump off the bus hugging friends she had made at camp naturally I had to meet the parents exchange numbers you know for future play dates on the way home I asked if she felt bad that like those other kids she did not have a mummy and she says Na I like having you too myself Steven ,my little princess knows it all was home and when we got home she ran to her room thank goodness her fish and plants were still alive come to think about it she turned around and gives me a surprised look which had me asking her what is that look for she says nothing that night we skipped bed time and almost stayed up all night as she told me all about camp well she did at least I fell in and out of sleep somehow every time I came too she was there still talking it was a fun night it was good to have Raydia back home in my lifeMiss plum pudding when she got going had questions that would just remind me of the questions I would ask my grandma when she was indoctrinating us with religion, my grandma had a better come back though she would say baby just be good and when you die you can ask G-d yourself, me I had nothing. One time we went on the L train to the San Francisco Zoo and she says to me after we left did G-d really make all those animals at first I was happy she was engaging in a discussion then out the blue she asks is he like Joe? , joe lives in our building and I don’t think we have ever seen him sober anyway I let that one fly and I ask her which animal did you like the most and she says us I was like what, did you just say us? and she says yes we are animals too right and I say yes and then she says at least we were not in a cage again no come backat this point little me is starting to develop an agenda thanks and praises to the all forces in the universe her poor old man was a number one priority she had it all planned out like every night I tucked her in she would ask "Steven" what is your plan for us? personally still had nothing but I could not show her that so I would just tell her none off your biz just go to sleep cupcake she would give me this look and pretend to snore then before I know it she was nudging me awake, truth be told I did not know what a gwan but I knew my angel was smiling.I woke up early one time just to beat her at her own game it was early she was knocked out snoring like my old sekuru (grandad) Chongewenya Chihota a man of stature if I can add he was awesome her grandfathers brother a piece of history this girl will be proud off , still tho I did not want to force anything on her she would choose herself her road and my job was to support her as a new found dad folks I had no eye deer still tho we seemed to make it cupcakeAs my sweetheart started getting older (by that I mean when she turned 4)she knew it all I would just sit just watching the words coming out of her mouth it was classic Still I had no Come back where is my granny when I need her she would tell me stuff we needed , and I am like wewe ewe imi (Three african langauges right there) she was right tho My best reason for how she got that smart so quick was when we got the juicer and she read the recipe book ,folks again on come backs nothingI like shelping her around everybody loves her the kid is cute, my cupcake smiling cheek to cheek pretty sure that is how my dad felt walking with memust have been and she would have just adored her Grand father but I guess we would never know . all I was worried about was that she had her cocopuffs in the morningshe did not have to hear my dramathen one morning she asks me (ofcoz with that look she has) Steven do you miss your Dad at least this time I had a come back I said every day sweetpie then she said something that made me tell her I needed to use the bathroom she said I will miss you too if you were not with meI had to go cry I just could not do it infront off her so I had to peeI had to find something to do with her I could not let her be complacent see my dauhter was the fourth of july that is what she ment to me freedom and as Long as as I was free kinda like that my sunshine had to bethe stars were popping all over fun tho she was just worried about her fish I am like sugarcake the fish are not scared but I would pull myself back I had 6 all died on me I was not going to tell she did not need to know death not even if it took me 12 seconds to tell herafter the Fourth she comes up with a game plan Wait till you good folks hear this one out of the blue she has figured out how we can double our money (which folks at this point I am asking myself how do you know how much or even if we have any????) My plumcake just said I know you Steven I know we got something so ok I was waiting to hear this just like you right nowagain it was a classic no come back momment.Butterfly says we should invest in candy and her logic as long as there kids candy will never go out off business, I am thinking what about toasted cheese sandwichs thats good too right???or a pizza and we call it papa steves and apple pies so I tell her ok candy should we use your colleage fund to get started and she is just standing there eyeballing me like really why not use your retirement fund that way I can still use my collage fund to take care off us lolNow Raydia was a smart cookie I am pretty sure you have figured that out, she had a friend called Zharia her farther Boris was Russian and her mum Nyemba was from Zimbabwe one time I was busy on my laptop , cupkake comes up to me and pulls on my sleeve and says steven? I was busy so I asked her to give me 30 mins she went away five mins later she comes back pulls my sleeve and I am like cupcake give me half an hour she goes away comes back in 5 mins and at this point after the third time I am ok sugar what is it then she pulls up my sleeve and puts her hand next to mine and says Steven how come Zahria's is the same color like us and her mommy and Daddy are not after breaking it down for her it was so awesome adding on and teaching my daughter how important the content of her charcter was, the way she caught on was a bonus (kinda like a layup and a shot from the line)Zahria and her folks were a blessing we would have sleep over nights for the girls on rotating weekends some how I think they offered more to cater the girls ,Boris let it slip one time at one of our family gatherings (on a gentlemens quiet cigar and stoli time on the balcony) that they were just giving me more time to start dating ( explained why Nyemba was always introducing me to all her single friends) I did go on dates it just was not the same since Raydia I had become a different man a dad so to speak it would be a while till anyone would win my affection , my little girl had it all for now and a while to come, Raydia was alwaysskeptical about women I met anyway she would hid behind me staring at them from around my legswith a who are you lookshe was never imporlite tho she was always wellmannered then on the way home I would hear it "Why was she looking at you like that, Why was she touching your hand like that,yada yada?" inside me I was laughting my behind off on the outside I had to show My Daughter she was my heart, so i never put any person before her i had to make certain she knew that.it was like i was when I was young at the tender age of twelve when I lost my Dad I was skeptical of anyone talking to MumsRaydia when she turned 5 started asking me more about myself and that is when it got interestinganswering her questions made me realize how much I missed about myself best things about having a kid is remembering all the things your Mom told you when you were young just wait till you are a parent still tho I have to give it to my little Princess she was a good kid a great indication of genes which I missed to see in me but all evident in her the genes were strong a look her Grandmother had Mbuya Chihota was precious to see she was destined to good things I just had to make sure she did not falter or douht her self tell you what though that was well ahead of me all my job was just keeping a job and a roof as well as the next momment rolled by after another this kid was just agian a Ray of Sunshine she was just growing more and more respectfull of people everyday a beautiful child most times she would school me just a happy soul my kid was teaching me, "me the guy who named the price off a bucket of cheese on the price is right" awesome to be with this kid all mine and I all hers Thanks for reading more to comeI woke up one time looking at her snorering away I could not figure out how I am doing this it was mind boggling I just went to bed before you know it plum cake is waking me up first thing she says is Stevenwe need toilet paper lol I was just happy she did not go to the store and get it herself (which I would not put it past her) at this point I am thinking maybe a puppy might not be too bad for her you know. also given how she kept her fish and her plants I felt she could handle a puppy first we had to have that most important talk before getting the mutt your dog you scooping ok she was with it so we went and got Buster when we brought him home Buster was scared he was shaking she just kept picking him up and trying to assure him he was ok funny it just took me back to when I got her and she was buster my muffin tho had it all planned out agiain no come back she already had a spot for the mutt even before she had us go get it I mean go figure ,mi armore was on her best plan she and buster hit it off my fear was the average life for a dog on a good day could be 12 years............................

That was my first night with my daughter.next morning, I got up and made some salami and cheese sandwiches got some sodasgot a blanket put them in a backpack and we went to this legal aid place and I told them someone dropped this little girl at my house last night told me she was my daughter, what they did was send me to a place to get a paternity test and the results were positive she was mine with the test results which we got by midday we went to the San Francisco courthouse but first we spread the blanket down on the lawn in front of city hall and I gave her a sandwich and a soda and we sat down and had a picnic while she was munching I asked her if she liked her name which by the way was Julie and she shook her head and said no so I asked her what she thought about Raydia Chihota and she smiled and nodded so we finished our lunch and went to the court house and got her a birth certificate with my name on it as her Dadand her new name Raydia.When we got that done we went to the local salvation army and they gave us some more clothes for her. Pajamas little girlie stuff that made her smile that was a breakthru. After that I made arrangements to get some cable the basic channels we had to get her cartoon networks till then all I really needed was google when we got home I have a chest of drawers real low with a smooth flat surface and two huge pull out drawers on the front we put her clothes in one of them and the first of her toy collection in the other I had a small mattress kind of like a yoga mat only thicker and we made her a little nook in my little spot but all was good she was at least starting to get her glow back one morning like 2 months later on a Saturday I woke up and was watching her she did not notice I was watching her though anyway she pulls the stool We had climbed on it and got some cocopuffs from the top of the fridge then got some milk made herself some breakfast then went back to her spot and put on Saturday morning cartoons that’s when I really knew beyond a shadow off a doubt this was my kid ; all this time "minus the brewsky" I brushed up on my coding because plainly given these new developments I had to get back in the race with the rats.Also we had to get daycare for at this point little Madame queen of our little castlethat is when the jugging started I mean you have to understand coming from single no give a shit attitude back ground I got hit with a curve ball ;so our routine was I drop her off at daycare go to work then come pick her up after work I tell you in a city like San Francisco that is a “mission” on its own right, so about like 3 weeks into this new arraignment there was a traffic jam and I was late to pick her up when I got to her daycare she the only kid at the school with a teacher standing there and she looked like she was going to cry and she gives me this hug and tells me I thought you were not coming to get me and I told her no sweetheart I am your father I am not going anywhere. Anyway the ride home that day was to talk about it is like I opened up a can off jibba jabba and some "in the cutest way of course “all the way home on the 19 bus she would not stop talking about you know little 3year old drama stuff like billy pulled sallys hair and made her cry billy is mean yadda yadda anyway long story short it was a major milestone in our lives. one morning a few weeks later I woke up and she was next to me snoring I asked her when she woke up how she ended up in my bed and she said she had a bad dream and she said she was scaredit was a tuff time just trying to find something fun to do everything was fun My daughter was just a "Ray" off sunshine were once it was dark. I asked her one day what you think about physics trying to figure out how she is understandig the da to0ns she is watching she asks me what you mean like atomsI was shocked again at a decent age of 12 I had no clue what an atom wasso I say yes theoretical physics though and she says saw that on star trek what’s that is it like a field in physics were you can make sense of all this .I was at this point starting to think to myself little miss queen know it all might just be a genius at least a sevat first though I had to test her the first question to prove someone is not stupid I think is to ask them "are you stupid??" and she looks at me and says you don’t think so do you??? Then she smiles and does a little twirl dance and says see I know it I am not stupid not stupid not stupid never never stupid!! My miss butterfly I was so proud of her ,next came the bicycle training time she was a terror we went to oakland to the walmart we dont do walmart in San Fransico and got her a bike helmet knee pads all the stuff I needed when I was cracking my head open trying to learn how to ride a bike at a tender age of 12 I was thinking to myself dang when driving age rolls around watch out but my little girl had guts though she fell one time ( at first she asked me not let go which I did as soon as she started peddling it was so funny how I said ok I wont let go lol I think personally that is when she fell when she looked back and saw I let go lol) and that was it she mastered her bike after that funny thinking back I must have fallen a dozen times (12) before I could even ride my first bike round the small home my folks had in waterfalls Harare , for a three year old Raydia was much smarter then I was at three I guess they just don’t make them like they did in the 70's it was a feeling I cannot put in writing watching this young child finally in her young life so far feeling safe and just looking happy and gaining so much confidence times I used to wake up on the bad months when I was overwhelmed and things looked like they were falling apart and just the smile on her face turned my frown upside downthe best was football season I remember the first 49er game we watched together I said to her now sweetheart don’t read too much into this I know we are playing like this now but we do have a few rings on us and she is looking at me like ok and the point in her own smart little miss sunshine kind off way anyway Raydia I like to believe by end of the first quarter had a better understanding of the game then the head coach did she was like Steven why doesn’t he just throw the ball I was laughing off my lower backside at this point next day I dug into the rainy day fund and we went and got some san Francisco 49er gear which she did not seem to want to change out off we had the most interesting talks on wash days something like you know butterfly you gotta wear something else so we can wash that stuff she would always be eyeballing me like I was taking the last piece of candy in the bowlthen I noticed she started to gravite from cartoon network to Kqed and all the history channels once again at 3 years old I was trying to figure out who batman was,or how many peas i could fit in my nose ( those bets never ended well) but not Raydia she even had a theory on why batman could kick superman’s ass I would need a whole new life time too explain it to you I have to say though she made a few good points her first question was why is superman wearing his underwear outside his pants? at this point I was like cupcake just eat your toasted cheese sandwich (at this point I am ODING the poor child on them lol), I had no come back I had nothing. then she saw this advertisement on the idiot box about the ultimate ninja juicer and how healthy it would make you and I never heard the end off it till we got one then she started making recipes for your heart, liver ,kidney and what got me was a mix she came up with for your brain I have no clue where this a some year old heard of omega oil at the tender age of 12 I know I didn’t (I guess she must have picked that up from Dr OZ somehow the Idiot box had an opposite affect on cupcake)I was going to make sure this little princess would enjoy her life she would go too her prom have fun but most of all she was going to collegeso my mission was to start planting success into her little brain so I would challenge her every month with a different book the first was George Owells Animal Farm she really liked “Boxer” the horse made sense to me I did too for a three year old reading a book like that to her it was interesting seeing how she grasped the unfairness that this world brought at times but kept an open mind one morning she wakes up and while I am getting her ready for daycare she says Steven can we get a farm (after alL the laughter died down and I got enough wind back in me to pick myself up from the floor)at first I told her we have one already in a village were your grandfather and I come from then she asks what is it called and I tell her Chihota of cause. At the same time I was like where did this come from anyway at this point she is on a roll and my little miss Sunshine says we can have a better farm anyway on the bus ride to her daycare I sold her on the idea that a farm might be too much for us right now but if I got some plants and she watered them and they lived it would be a start so that day before I picked her up I went to a nursery and got a plant for her to look after I got her a resilient one of the cactus variety so it did not die on her she loved it she took good care of it then one day out of the blue she asks for a puppy or get a pony, now folks we had for that moment in time what we needed just not enough to feed another mouth but she did not need to know all that so I asked her if we could get some goldfish first and see where it goes from there and so I got her two gold fish she loved them I got her a gold and a black one we also got an aquarium with a black light she loved them it was cool at least she was happy that meant everything to me she woke up next morning and she woke me up just to say she was happy, happy! that meant a big deal to me.Time went by and our little crib just was not going to cut it so we had to get a little two bedroom spot as cool as that was folks I had to get another job 4 days a week I would come home at 11pm thank G-d we had this Nigerian lady next door who would look after her even though at our new spot she had her own room I made her a spot at the corner of my room mainly because when I got home from work she was sleeping I had to carry her home and I did not want her to wake up in her room alone one time not to long after that I wake up and smell bacon frying and I am like what the ?? so I get up look in the kitchen and little muffin has the stove going she has bacon eggs frying now my first instinct was to run up and ask what she thought she was doing but I chilled watched her for a little bit longer then went back to bed about 30 minutes I am getting a nudge from her and she has bacon and eggs some toast and orange juice which funny enough was the one thing she got on the floor that was cool for a 3 year old I had to give her ,her props and then we made a deal if she ever thought of making dinner at least in the next decade I had to be in on it.Then summer camp time came around I have to admit I was loving my know it all little lady and deep down I did not want her to go away but she had to it was all the processes of growing up and close friends were telling me, I could also use the break so the dilemma at least that’s what I thought was what kind of camp but if you been keeping up with me so far you probably figured little miss sunshine had it all figured out, her main concern was who was going to "look after me" when she was gone to camp anyway she chose a science camp go figure all the way to the place I was dropping her off to go to camp she is the one giving me instructions all the water my plants so and so feed my fish so and so years later come to find out she had made arraignments with the Nigerian Lady next door to check up on me and make sure I was ok the lady said to me she asked her "please look after my Daddy" all this time with me we had always been on a first name basis. See the night I first met my daughter I told her to call me Steve of course over time it changed to Steven I did this because firstly she had just been dropped off on my door step and I did not want to place any of societies "norms" on her it was touching to hear that .now all you with no heart or feel my story is becoming all sentimental if you got guts stick around there is so much more to come that month when she was at camp I was lost for the first time in a pretty while I was waking up with no purpose in life I kept the house clean though (also had a beer or twelve) shit I had nothing else to do I did manage to stack up on some savings most of which went to her college fund the day she came back from camp I was a kid going to a candy store when I went to pick her up seeing her jump off the bus hugging friends she had made at camp naturally I had to meet the parents exchange numbers you know for future play dates on the way home I asked if she felt bad that like those other kids she did not have a mummy and she says Na I like having you too myself Steven ,my little princess knows it all was home and when we got home she ran to her room thank goodness her fish and plants were still alive come to think about it she turned around and gives me a surprised look which had me asking her what is that look for she says nothing that night we skipped bed time and almost stayed up all night as she told me all about camp well she did at least I fell in and out of sleep somehow every time I came too she was there still talking it was a fun night it was good to have Raydia back home in my lifeMiss plum pudding when she got going had questions that would just remind me of the questions I would ask my grandma when she was indoctrinating us with religion, my grandma had a better come back though she would say baby just be good and when you die you can ask G-d yourself, me I had nothing. One time we went on the L train to the San Francisco Zoo and she says to me after we left did G-d really make all those animals at first I was happy she was engaging in a discussion then out the blue she asks is he like Joe? , joe lives in our building and I don’t think we have ever seen him sober anyway I let that one fly and I ask her which animal did you like the most and she says us I was like what, did you just say us? and she says yes we are animals too right and I say yes and then she says at least we were not in a cage again no come backat this point little me is starting to develop an agenda thanks and praises to the all forces in the universe her poor old man was a number one priority she had it all planned out like every night I tucked her in she would ask "Steven" what is your plan for us? personally still had nothing but I could not show her that so I would just tell her none off your biz just go to sleep cupcake she would give me this look and pretend to snore then before I know it she was nudging me awake, truth be told I did not know what a gwan but I knew my angel was smiling.I woke up early one time just to beat her at her own game it was early she was knocked out snoring like my old sekuru (grandad) Chongewenya Chihota a man of stature if I can add he was awesome her grandfathers brother a piece of history this girl will be proud off , still tho I did not want to force anything on her she would choose herself her road and my job was to support her as a new found dad folks I had no eye deer still tho we seemed to make it cupcakeAs my sweetheart started getting older (by that I mean when she turned 4)she knew it all I would just sit just watching the words coming out of her mouth it was classic Still I had no Come back where is my granny when I need her she would tell me stuff we needed , and I am like wewe ewe imi (Three african langauges right there) she was right tho My best reason for how she got that smart so quick was when we got the juicer and she read the recipe book ,folks again on come backs nothingI like shelping her around everybody loves her the kid is cute, my cupcake smiling cheek to cheek pretty sure that is how my dad felt walking with memust have been and she would have just adored her Grand father but I guess we would never know . all I was worried about was that she had her cocopuffs in the morningshe did not have to hear my dramathen one morning she asks me (ofcoz with that look she has) Steven do you miss your Dad at least this time I had a come back I said every day sweetpie then she said something that made me tell her I needed to use the bathroom she said I will miss you too if you were not with meI had to go cry I just could not do it infront off her so I had to peeI had to find something to do with her I could not let her be complacent see my dauhter was the fourth of july that is what she ment to me freedom and as Long as as I was free kinda like that my sunshine had to bethe stars were popping all over fun tho she was just worried about her fish I am like sugarcake the fish are not scared but I would pull myself back I had 6 all died on me I was not going to tell she did not need to know death not even if it took me 12 seconds to tell herafter the Fourth she comes up with a game plan Wait till you good folks hear this one out of the blue she has figured out how we can double our money (which folks at this point I am asking myself how do you know how much or even if we have any????) My plumcake just said I know you Steven I know we got something so ok I was waiting to hear this just like you right nowagain it was a classic no come back momment.Butterfly says we should invest in candy and her logic as long as there kids candy will never go out off business, I am thinking what about toasted cheese sandwichs thats good too right???or a pizza and we call it papa steves and apple pies so I tell her ok candy should we use your colleage fund to get started and she is just standing there eyeballing me like really why not use your retirement fund that way I can still use my collage fund to take care off us lolNow Raydia was a smart cookie I am pretty sure you have figured that out, she had a friend called Zharia her farther Boris was Russian and her mum Nyemba was from Zimbabwe one time I was busy on my laptop , cupkake comes up to me and pulls on my sleeve and says steven? I was busy so I asked her to give me 30 mins she went away five mins later she comes back pulls my sleeve and I am like cupcake give me half an hour she goes away comes back in 5 mins and at this point after the third time I am ok sugar what is it then she pulls up my sleeve and puts her hand next to mine and says Steven how come Zahria's is the same color like us and her mommy and Daddy are not after breaking it down for her it was so awesome adding on and teaching my daughter how important the content of her charcter was, the way she caught on was a bonus (kinda like a layup and a shot from the line)Zahria and her folks were a blessing we would have sleep over nights for the girls on rotating weekends some how I think they offered more to cater the girls ,Boris let it slip one time at one of our family gatherings (on a gentlemens quiet cigar and stoli time on the balcony) that they were just giving me more time to start dating ( explained why Nyemba was always introducing me to all her single friends) I did go on dates it just was not the same since Raydia I had become a different man a dad so to speak it would be a while till anyone would win my affection , my little girl had it all for now and a while to come, Raydia was alwaysskeptical about women I met anyway she would hid behind me staring at them from around my legswith a who are you lookshe was never imporlite tho she was always wellmannered then on the way home I would hear it "Why was she looking at you like that, Why was she touching your hand like that,yada yada?" inside me I was laughting my behind off on the outside I had to show My Daughter she was my heart, so i never put any person before her i had to make certain she knew that.it was like i was when I was young at the tender age of twelve when I lost my Dad I was skeptical of anyone talking to MumsRaydia when she turned 5 started asking me more about myself and that is when it got interestinganswering her questions made me realize how much I missed about myself best things about having a kid is remembering all the things your Mom told you when you were young just wait till you are a parent still tho I have to give it to my little Princess she was a good kid a great indication of genes which I missed to see in me but all evident in her the genes were strong a look her Grandmother had Mbuya Chihota was precious to see she was destined to good things I just had to make sure she did not falter or douht her self tell you what though that was well ahead of me all my job was just keeping a job and a roof as well as the next momment rolled by after another this kid was just agian a Ray of Sunshine she was just growing more and more respectfull of people everyday a beautiful child most times she would school me just a happy soul my kid was teaching me, "me the guy who named the price off a bucket of cheese on the price is right" awesome to be with this kid all mine and I all hers Thanks for reading more to comeI woke up one time looking at her snorering away I could not figure out how I am doing this it was mind boggling I just went to bed before you know it plum cake is waking me up first thing she says is Stevenwe need toilet paper lol I was just happy she did not go to the store and get it herself (which I would not put it past her) at this point I am thinking maybe a puppy might not be too bad for her you know. also given how she kept her fish and her plants I felt she could handle a puppy first we had to have that most important talk before getting the mutt your dog you scooping ok she was with it so we went and got Buster when we brought him home Buster was scared he was shaking she just kept picking him up and trying to assure him he was ok funny it just took me back to when I got her and she was buster my muffin tho had it all planned out agiain no come back she already had a spot for the mutt even before she had us go get it I mean go figure ,mi armore was on her best plan she and buster hit it off my fear was the average life for a dog on a good day could be 12 years............................
