Yoga and Bluebird Sky.  Hiking and Yoga are two incredibly interconnected and mutually supportive practices. As hiking offers a sustainable strengthening cardio option, a yoga practice supports it through building up the body flexibility, focusing on the breath and deepening the internal awareness. If that combo sounds good to you, then bundle up, take a hike and inhale the crisp fall air to rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit!
About the National ArboretumThe National Arboretum is a true DC gem offering a fascinating variety of plants and trees from all over the world. The Arboretum is located in northeast Washington, DC, 2.2 miles from the Capitol. It is bordered on the west by Bladensburg Road, on the north by New York Avenue, and on the south by M Street. Visitor entrances are located on New York Avenue and on R Street.
LogisticsWe will gather at the circle in front of the administration building.  We will have waivers to complete and answer questions before heading out. We will hike approximately 2 miles and stop 2 or 3 times for a standing yoga practice. On our return back, we will find a quiet space in one of the gardens for a silent meditation bridging body and mind to the beautiful nature sounds. A true famous Russian poppy seed bread will be awaiting us upon return.  
 Bundle up, bring a bottle of water, and wear a pair of comfortable gym shoes.

*We are asking for donations (suggested $15 min) to help make programming like this a regular thing at the arboretum.  Help make this happen!
Cancellations: We will only cancel if the weather causes unsafe conditions and you would be notified on the morning of by 9AM.
