Postmates Delivers: Kubernetes

migrated to Kubernetes. We’ll cover the basics of our cluster setup, introspection, the issues that we uncovered (and fixed) with DNS in Kubernetes, as well as the need to write our own configurable horizontal pod autoscaler (now open-sourced here) while enjoying great food, drinks, and company.

SPEAKER BIO

Blake Barnett, Staff Software Engineer
Blake Barnett is a member of the Postmates Infrastructure Engineering team. Blake has spent the past 20 years working on infrastructure and cloud systems, from the very large scale at Apple, to co-founding a small startup. He currently leads all Kubernetes initiatives at Postmates, and just returned from speaking at KubeCon Europe 2019. Talk here. 
 

Ivan Glushkov, Staff Software Engineer
Ivan Glushkov is a member of the Postmates Platform Engineering team. Ivan has been working with Kubernetes since v0.12. He works mostly with distributed high-load projects, and loves to program in Erlang and Go. He is a host of a podcast (in Russian) about different CS topics. He leads an architectural redesign initiative as well as initiatives targeted at increasing the system transparency and predictability at Postmates.

How do I get to the event?
This event will take place at 1615, 16th St, Santa Monica, CA 90404. 
The space is located next to the 17th St Expo Line, and has a few first come first serve parking spots available, in addition to plenty of street parking.  
Are there minimum age requirement to enter the event?
All guests must be 21+ since there will be alcohol served.
