Lake Champlain Camping + Hiking in Two States

of Fort Ticonderoga further south. It also has a campground, where we can tent Friday and Sat. night. On Sat. morning, we'll drive across the pictured bridge and hike Mt. Ellen and Abraham in nearby Vermont. We'll need to car spot to make it a through-hike. We can eat dinner back at the campground, or at a restaurant in nearby Middlebury or Vergennes. We'll pack up camp Sun. morning, drive NW to Hwy. 9 and hike out and back on the trail running over Bald Peak and Rocky Peak Ridge in NY's Adirondacks. It will be about 8 miles total. This will offer great views of Giant Mt. to the west, and Lake Champlain to the east. We'll drive home after that.
