Los Angeles native, Kenny Metcalf is known as one of the top tribute artists worldwide. His spot-on performances embodying stellar musicianship, copy-cat vocal accuracy and stage antics have gained him countless accolades from fans as well as peers in the entertainment industry. Kenny has been immersed in music and performance his entire life.
While at school one day, he witnessed a friend playing “Benny and the Jets” on a piano. The rendition and reception by his peers, compelled Kenny to learn the instrument for himself. He was captivated by Elton John’s flamboyance and showmanship, and would often dream of playing John’s music before the masses. After several years of honing his craft, developing costumes and performance he has twice been featured on AXS TV’s The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands, where he wowed audiences worldwide with his portrayal of “Rocket Man.”

Born and raised in Levittown, NY, just a few miles from Billy Joel’s childhood home, it seems like a natural fit to see a fellow Long Islander pay homage to the music of the man who, in Mike word’s, “told the story of every kid’s, teen’s and adult’s life in the suburbs of New York City.” As a lifelong fan, he strives to capture the essence and tone – and most of all – the attitude of every song he performs. Audiences have often commented that they were positive they were hearing the original CD, when in fact what they were hearing was all live. Mike is very excited to be sharing the stage with Kenny Metcalf in ‘Billy Joel 2 Elton John,’ but most of all to share the music and excitement that people would come to expect from seeing two of the top entertainers in the world.

For over 38 years, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles has built an international reputation for musical excellence while remaining deeply rooted in service to the Los Angeles community. Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “one of the last important links to a glorious tradition in music,” GMCLA is one of the country’s largest male choruses with over 270 singers. GMCLA has commissioned more than 600 new works and arrangements, released fifteen albums, appears frequently on national television, and is the first openly gay chorus to tour central Europe (1991), broadcast over Russian television (1999), tour South America (2006), and perform for two sitting U.S. Presidents. GMCLA also has an extensive youth outreach program that brings a message of love, acceptance, and hope and has reached over 50,000 students in the Los Angeles area through our Alive Music Project and an additional tens of thousands of young people nationally through our it gets better Tour.
