Operation Fermentation 5: Presented by Cane Island Alers & No Label Brewing

will have our gorgeous club bar pouring homebrew and some of the best commercial beers in the world.
We are going to have our annual brewer's roundtable with the following speakers:
- Sean Hanrahan from Platypus- Patrick Christian and Sean Bednarz from Great Heights- Marcus Wunderle From Baa Baa - Justin Gyorfi from Ingenious - Jennifer Edwards from 4J

Additionally, We will be brewing and serving a special "Tex Mex IPA" recipe developed by Vinnie Cilurzo of Russian River Brewing specifically for serving at Op ferm.
We will also be providing dinner to all attendees, and all beer taps will be open all night. Commercial kegs will include:

We will have over $3000 worth of raffle prizes including multiple 50' lbs of grain from many specialty craft maltsters in the USA.
Additionally we'll have a Crowler Ring Toss where you can try your luck at a full 32 oz of some of houston's finest and freshest craft beer. You're guaranteed to come away with a can or bottle of some great craft, as if you fail to land a crowler you can "Bob for beer" in our Cooler of Craft.

Awards will be presented at the end of the evening for all sub categories, Brewer's Star (Best of Show), the Distinguished Brewer's Star (Most points), and announcing the winners of all the Pro-Am competitions.

COMPETITION DETAILS!
The Cane Island Alers (CIA), in partnership with No Label Brewing Co. are proud to host this AHA/BJCP sanctioned competition, aligned with the 2015 Style Guidelines, and including most categories with the exception of Ciders and Meads. This competition is proud to be part of the 2018 Lone Star Circuit for the third year.
Registration will open on May 21st 2018.  You will be able to register and pay for your entries via our website at www.cialers.org/opferm. We will be accepting PayPal and checks for entry fees.  Make checks payable to: Cane Island Alers.
Registration and drop off deadline will be June 22nd 2018. If you are shipping entries from outside of the Houston area make sure to allow plenty of time for them to arrive prior to June 22nd.  Also, please  remember that is it illegal to ship alcohol via the USPS.
Cost per entry will be $8 each and there is a limit of 1 entry per subcategory including individuals and brewing teams. The event will have a limit of 350 entries, so please get registered early so you don’t miss out! Judging will take place in late June and early July. Awards will be handed out to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place beers in each subcategory and an overall Best of Show award. An awards ceremony is scheduled for August 4th at Firethorne Community Center, further details to follow.
In addition, we will have the “Special Operations Mission” Pro-Am with No Label this year, with the style Saison.  Please no expensive ingredients and no Brett/lacto/pedio. This is a no charge (free) single entry category.
